Ryan D. Wood has spent his 11-year career as an attorney protecting the rights of individuals who are facing the most difficult situations of their lives. Whether defending against criminal charges or recovering financial stability after a loss, Ryan tirelessly advocates for his clients.
Ryan attended University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, California, and graduated with a Trial Concentration. While in law school, he was a national mock trial finalist and was invited to join the Order of the Barristers, a national organization of trial attorneys.
Following law school, Ryan began his law career at a small civil litigation firm in Sacramento where he represented injured individuals against powerful insurance companies. While there, he successfully argued cases before the California Court of Appeals and Supreme Court as well as the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
Upon returning to Seattle, Ryan took a new direction in his legal practice and started a lasting career in criminal defense. His more than eight years of experience ensuring that the Constitutional rights as well as the personal and unique needs of his clients are respected gives his clients the confidence to know that they are in excellent hands.
Three years ago, Ryan and Norm Golden created the law firm GoldenWood, LLP, with a purpose of providing passionate and zealous advocacy for their clients. GoldenWood Law specializes in protecting those who protect the rest of us. That focus perfectly dovetails with the mission of Safe Call Now and Ryan and Norm are deeply honored to be a part of this amazing organization.
Ryan takes on a wide array of cases and clients and has earned the respect of the legal community. He has recently been asked to serve as a judge pro tem, substituting for elected judges when needed. Ryan plans to eventually campaign for a permanent judicial seat.
When he is not hard at work in the courtroom, you can find Ryan making the most of all that the Northwest has to offer. Ryan is an avid daily runner and has earned many age group awards along with several top-ten finishes in local distance races. He spends his remaining free time with his wife, a Nurse Practitioner at the Veteran's hospital, playing soccer, rock climbing and hiking. During the winter months, they spend their weekends as ski instructors and on weekends in the summer and fall, Ryan can always be found at Husky Stadium or CenturyLink Field cheering on his beloved Sounders, Seahawks and Huskies.
